1. Enter the supply and load data from your worked project example.
♦ Select folder tab '3. Edit Cyl Data' to open the popup window.
♦ Enter the cylinder data and fixing type under the folder tab.
♦ Adjust the 'free buckling length' slidebar and observe how the maximum buckling force changes.
2. Open a typical cylinder datasheets or read page 204 in this example.
♦ Calculate the maximum rod length from the datasheet and compare that with the one in your example.
♦ Compare your calculated value with those from the visual calculator design guide.
